The website sweden.se is the official site of the country and here you can learn almost everything you need to know about Sweden. It is one of the richer countries in the world, and its people have lived in peace for more than 200 years. One might think immigrants would ge greeted with open arms, but is that really the case? Take part of immigrants’ stories in Sweden.

To leave one’s country, family and home is never easy, regardless of what reasons you have. Arriving in the new country can be challenging in many ways, both the large and the small things are different and sometimes even strange.

One of many things you can read about on the sweden.se site are stories told by immigrants. How they ended up in the country, what they went through to get there and what their new lives are like today.

Behind the site stands The Swedish Institute (SI) which promotes Sweden and Swedish interests abroad. According to SI they have the following tasks:

“SI seeks to establish cooperation and lasting relations with other countries through strategic
communication and exchange in the fields of culture, education, science and business.”
